In horse racing the term “trip out” typically refers to a horse receiving not only the most advantageous path around the track, but also a dream pace scenario aligned with the horses preferred running style of leader, presser, or closer.
In this artwork, I have used a circular printing plate to imitate a colorful tie-dye like pattern upon which I have also printed a relief carved plate of the horse and jockey in motion. With this title, I pay homage to the sporting jargon while also making a humorous pun to a psychedelic experience.
