David Barista

My artwork depicts images from popular culture and daily life with the intent to celebrate and chronicle shared experiences.  My artistic practice explores themes of community connection, particularly through sports imagery.  I work with a variety of media including printmaking, collage, painting/drawing, photography, and sculpture in order to discover meaning about myself and the world.  I aim to build upon the history of sports imagery in art expanding our collective consciousness for art objects.

David Barista is an artist and educator from Palos Heights, IL who currently lives and works in Decatur, IL.  Barista graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA with an emphasis in art education.
