The racehorse and jockey motif allows me to explore ideas of luck, chance, and risk. Horse racing jargon often serves as a starting point for humorous visual puns. Horse racing fascinates me as a space where high and low culture collides. Through this body of artwork, I am able to preserve the story of horse racing, America’s oldest sport, and celebrate what connects us to a shared identity.
