Intaglio, relief, and serigraph on paper and repurpose record album
This artwork was completed as a commission for the National Thoroughbred League’s Tennessee Studs. The hometown track of the Tennessee Studs is Kentucky Downs outside of Nashville Tennessee. For this artwork, I repurposed an old record album and juxtaposed the Studs logo with various Nashville music icons printed in a Warhol like pop art style. A fine art print on paper fits inside the record album jacket. Guitar picks and vinyl records are inked up and sent through the etching press. The Tennessee Studs logo and the horse in motion appropriated from Eduard Muybridge’s zooipraxiscope overlap a field of color.
